About Hampshire First

After receiving approval to begin banking operations from the New Hampshire Board of Bank Incorporators and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation November 14, 2006, we opened our first banking office in downtown Nashua. We now operate banking offices in Manchester - our headquarters - Portsmouth, Londonderry and Keene. Our stock, traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol HFBN, was first listed
November 22, 2006.

The genesis for Hampshire First Bank occurred when two childhood friends, each retired from successful banking industry careers, had a chance encounter at a wedding. James DelRossi, a former state banking regulator, was telling John Terravecchia, the founding President of Cornerstone Bank in Southern New Hampshire, about the success that East Boston Savings Bank had in serving its local community. Mr. DelRossi is a Director of East Boston Saving Bank.

As they talked further, it became clear that there was a demand for a community bank headquartered and managed in New Hampshire, and the Hampshire First story began. James Dunphy was hired as President and CEO in February of 2006.

The work continued by assembling a Board of Directors from community and business leaders. East Boston Savings Bank, through its holding company, committed to a 40% equity stake, with the remaining 60% ($18 million) made available to local and knowledgeable investors. The stock offering was oversubscribed within five weeks and concluded on November 3, 2006.
